Jellyfish Sting

Friday June 27, 2003
Last weekend I was stung by a jellyfish while swimming in the ocean during our vacation on the island of Saint Martin / Sint Maarten. The sting itself was relatively mild which caused me minor discomfort for approx. 40 minutes. My first instinct was to rub the soreness on my rump, which was the wrong course to take. The sting created a red rash about the size of a quarter surrounding a small welt which resembled a mosquito bite. emedicine.com offers remedy advice to follow in the event of a jellyfish sting
